Straus Family Creamery strives to consistently provide the highest quality, best-tasting organic milk, yogurt, butter, ice cream, and sour cream made with minimal processing and wholesome ingredients. Straus Family Creamery makes business decisions considering environmental and ecological priorities, which support the philosophy of sustainable, organic family farming, for the health and well being of the company, its farmers, employees and the community at large.
In 1941, William Straus founded a dairy with 23 cows named after friends and relatives. In 1994, his son, Albert Straus transitioned the dairy to organic–making it the first organic dairy west of the Mississippi–and opened Straus Family Creamery. He did so to keep his family’s farm in agriculture and continue to protect the land through sustainable farming practices. Straus Family Creamery makes a full line of dairy products with milk from his family’s farm and from three other local family farms.
